How to Remove Virus Remotely?

Do you have a suspicion that your computer has a virus? Has it become slow lately or are you experiencing random pop up messages while browsing the web? Getting persistent virus on your PC can be really exasperating. With the help of certain techniques, you can make the whole process more effective. If your computer is severely infected, you will need a malware free system to download the necessary tools. In case of no availability of second system, take help from your friend to download the tools for you and burn them to a DVD or pen drive. In you plan to use USB drive for transferring, make sure auto run should be disabled on both the systems. In this article, we are going to discuss some of the best practices which should be followed in order to remove virus remotely.

Step 1: Detach from Internet Connectivity

Close all applications and browser windows. Disconnect your computer from the internet. Simply remove the Ethernet cable in case you not connected through Wi-Fi.

Step 2: Windows Safe Mode

First and foremost, step should be shut down PC or laptop. Switch it on. Press the F8 key repetitively if the screen appears. Select Safe Mode with Networking from the Advanced Boot Options menu and press Enter.

  • In your computer is Windows 8 or 10, select restart from the start-up screen and press the Shift key. Some options window will appear to troubleshoot your computer and you can choose boot option in Safe Mode.
  • After logging in, if any black screen appears, press CTRL+ALT+DEL in a go to bring up the selection screen. Select logout option and then restart the system. After this, press Shift key for few seconds and choose Safe Mode option.

Step 3: Erase Temporary Files

Deletion of temporary files is also an important step, which can increase the speed of the scanning of viruses, and can immediately eliminate malware. Go to Start –Select All Programs — Go to Accessories — System Tools –Disk Cleanup –Choose Delete Temporary Files

Step 4: Scanning of Your Computer

After removing the temporary files, remove any adware or spyware under Install/Uninstall Programs under Control Panel Section, and reboot your computer, the next step is to run a full system scan with the help of a up to date anti-virus, which was downloaded as mentioned above. Try to scan your computer in Safe Mode, if your antivirus permits it. Delete all infected files.

Step 5: System Testing

After performing all the above steps, don’t assume that your system is back to normal. Restart your system, Go to Web browser, and instantly delete all cookies and offline files. Open Internet Explorer Connection settings (Go to Tools > Internet Options and select the Connections tab) to check system’s default LAN (Local Area Network) connection settings are not changed because of any malicious virus. If you find any issues, make sure your system’s settings should match which were their earlier settings of the network.

Step 6: Change Login Credentials

After performing above 5 steps, now all the viruses should have been deleted from your computer, but it might still be having effects created because of the infection. You might experience anomalies while accessing home pages of a search engine like Google or there are chances that some unwanted home page opens up. It is important that all your personal information like login credentials with their passwords of all email or social media accounts should be changed.
